I live in Queens (so one would think the outer boroughs would be cheaper than Manhattan) and good quality infant day care is $2250 a month for full time care. $27,000. A YEAR. FML.

I found this article disconcerting for a number of reasons. First I am a woman who works in the tech industry. And second, my FIL is a top editor at the WSJ. We will be having a conversation about this on Christmas for sure.

So, this feels weird to post, but DAMN Martha, you looked amazing at 49.

So, I’m going to be a downer... but I need to vent. My Dad died Tuesday. No one told me until Thursday night, when I got a text from his gf’s son letting me know he had passed. He’d had some health issues in the past, but in the last month was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. He never called me, and I’m struggling

Lol I like Mr. Big because assholes can be hot. Doesn’t mean I’d want him to be my partner!

The part of this episode that always gets me is when Miranda is walking down the aisle and starts to lose it, and Carrie jumps in, comforts her and walks her down. I don’t know why but I start balling every time I see that.

Ha! I’m 6DPO too.... but not peeing on sticks yet. ;)

Sperm can generally live for 3, but up to 5 days in the fallopian tubes. Aka paradise for spermies.

Oh god. I’ve be trying to conceive for about 3 months and this is my life right now. It’s amazing how little we are taught about our own bodies and it took me two months to find and synthesize all this information. I wish this article had come out months ago, because it truly is comprehensive and would have saved me a

Wait a minute. I love mocking Kanye as much as the next sane person, but seriously - we are now criticizing him for advocating to make education more affordable and accessible? Yeah, the medium is wrong but the sentiment is right.

As a woman, off birth control, who is actively trying to conceive here is my opinion: this is totally unrealistic.

Yes. And Serena argued it was a “love letter” to the UES side.... I’m sorry. You went to prep schools and Ive League schools, and you can’t tell the different between harassment and an ode? WTF. #EducationFail

Sorry, but this is wholly inaccurate. It was always based on Candace Bushnell’s articles about 4 real women from NYC. (I especially know this because I worked with the real life inspiration for Charlotte.)

Iris, the first 2 seasons were based on the articles by Candace Bushnell - the real life Carrie. While the first 2 seasons stayed pretty true to that, after that they were complete fiction. That’s why I’m saying everything after that is just rom-com based.

Agreed, there are plenty of men who would. But I narrowed that down to rich, commitment-phobic men - like Big - and they would not.

And let’s be honest - it didn’t work out in real life either. So the next 4 seasons + 2 movies was pure rom-com fantasy land.

THIS. I do think some of the relationships, sex talks and dating dynamics have held up pretty well over time (especially as a formerly single girl in NYC.). But, almost everything having to deal with sexuality and gender identity has not. It’s dated and uncomfortable.

You can watch it for free on TV Land!

This. I didn’t even meet my husband till I was 31. We got married this summer and we started trying the month I turned 35. Could I have popped out a kid in my 20s? Probably. But I wouldn’t have been able to support them, and they’d have had a loser of a father (based on the guys I dated).

So fun story: in the mid-aughts I worked at a Hearst publication where the former Publisher was the inspiration for Mr. Big. (Do a quick googling and it won’t be hard to figure out.) But ALSO fascinating was that the executive editor, Charlotte, was the REAL life inspiration for Charlotte York. (Different last name
