I think more places need to look into what the country of Georgia did, and disband their whole police department and start over. Too many of these issues run too deep, and the stakes are too high to wait around for slow, incremental change.

Our police have always sucked. I haven’t had a single encounter with them where they weren’t domineering and openly hostile. They usually have their pistol drawn more often than not.

They didn’t try very hard, because all cops are the enemy of the citizenry.

I feel like a badly broken record, but the police are the fucking enemy. If/when it comes down to it, they will not be on the side of the citizenry they are supposedly sworn to protect and serve. Black folks have known this forever; maybe white folks are starting to catch on.

My parents refuse to wear helmets on their ATVs. It drives me crazy. I even bought helmets for them. I’m a cyclist that raced xc mountain bikes and road races. I wear a helmet when I’m doing something as tame as riding around the neighborhood with my 5 year old daughter.
