I would (and have) just unfollow them. I don’t want to see crap like that in my newsfeed. And if you just unfollow them, you are technically still friends with them on Facebook, so there’s no drama caused.

My Catholic school just kind of avoiding the whole sex thing. I think they shipped everyone to the public school for a few hours of sex ed. I convinced my parents not to sign the permission slip because I was harshly bullied and jumped at any chance not to be forced to spend time with my peers. Me and one other girl…
Thanks for that. It was an interesting read.
I really want to know where they get those kinds of pictures from. I mean, is that really what an abortion looks like if you don’t get it done early enough? Are these pictures from someone who had an abortion, or are they from something else? And who took the photos? Did they give these people authority to use them?…
What does Christianity have to do with anything? I reminded of my trip to Japan, where it was actually super surprising to see no churches of any kind anywhere. My understanding (according to the words of my friend’s mom, who is Japanese), is that the Japanese aren’t really that religious at all. But would you call…
On it’s face, I can understand how it might feel odd to consider ethnicity when hiring, but at the same time, I feel like there are a lot of controversies that could have been avoided if only there was a diverse team working on the project.
That Katy Perry performance at the 2013 AMAs comes to mind for some reason.…
Saw people with these posters by my grocery store while hunting pokemon this weekend and I was just furious. I wanted to stand by them with a picture of a bloody liver to protest liver transplants. Because I don’t get the difference.
Also, they were trying to claim their images were of a fetus aborted at little more…
Tell that to the Catholics I know who have been divorced and remarried 3+ times. But, I guess it’s all cool so long as no one can see you sin.
Even though he appears clearly subdued in the video, I suppose he could have been trying to reach for his gun and we just wouldn’t see it. But then, why not just take the gun from him. Seems like, with him flat on the ground like that, it would be easy enough to do. Or, why not use a taser or those sticks they have to…
I always try to shake firmly because I was told that the strength of your handshake showed strength or power, something like that. Much like my decisions on whether or not to wear heals (heels to appear powerful, flats to appear approachable), I modify my handshake. If their’s is crazy firm, then I up my shake. If…
I did something similar when I was covering stories in journalism school. If I was interviewing someone who I felt would give me better answers if I appeared strong and in control, I’d wear high heels and pants. If I thought I would get more answers by appear cute and approachable, I’d put on a dress and flats.
‘Femininity, Not Feminism’ makes me cringe so much for some reason. I mean, on one hand, why not both? On the other hand, I don’t feel like I’m particularly feminine in the traditional sense, so I’ll stick with just the feminism.
I’ve actually made a point to not look feminine in some work situations. I feel like a solid pants suit makes me look more professional when I’m giving a presentation than a dress. Not that either attire would be inappropriate. Just how I feel.
In the end, I find that confidence means a whole lot more than dress. I’m…
I’m pleased. This has been a pretty okay week.
From the link in this article about the daughter’s wedding:
I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I completely understand the anger at the government’s inability to do something about gun control. On the other hand, did we JUST have a vote? I don’t understand why the democrats didn’t vote for the Republican gun control proposals. Wouldn’t that have been better than…
I agree!!
Also rejected was a proposal from Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) to maintain current background check protocol, but to increase government funding for them. Although most Republicans voted in favor of the measure, Democrats argued that it would enable those committed involuntarily to psychiatric institutions to…
Agreed. It’s really similar to how Republicans say “let the people choose” for anything, which is code for “we’re not doing anything until after the presidential election.” Which is just hilarious because the people DID choose. And they didn’t choose you.
