...you think that response to the girlfriend won’t result in more questions? Lol.

This is top to bottom one of the dumbest things I’ve read around here in awhile. And you’ve reinforced my belief that when somebody says Hot take”, they’re about to say something incredibly stupid.

Elon’s not gonna pork you, champ

They know that while what Duca did was bad, it isn’t really bad (or well-sourced) enough to justify their reporting on it unless they turn it into some kind of philosophical musing on the nature of Twitter fame or cancel culture or something.

Hate to break it to you but Tesla is not going to solve government corruption with a used tunnel boring machine.

You sure a couple mean emails betweening feuding journalists from 2015 was worth all this work?

Hot take: someone else here is the idiot.

There was absolutely no point in publishing this. The fact that it got through the entire writing and editorial process with out a single person asking if it actually matters is baffling.

in the grand scheme of things, you’re basically saying she’s a mean white girl which i think you can relate to.

not entirely sure why this article would need to be even a fraction of this length; the existence of this article feels like a solid illustration of the self obsessed navel gazing of twitter-obsessed media types in general.

Although yes, Tesla’s not using an old mainframe, since they aren’t, y’know, actually managing traffic right now....

Lauren Duca sucks, but is this really 4,500 words of “someone online was meanie to me”?

An ad hominem on the planners doesn’t change what they said chief. Even if you think they’re incompetent, they’re right here.

wow a twitter personality is a dick

No, they don’t ignore it. In fact they straight up called it out.

That is one of the biggest head-scratchers here: the biggest part of Boring Company’s promise was a faster, most efficient tunneling technology, yet these folks did not find any evidence of it!

Hot take: Those transit agency employees are idiots.

Except some subways are already computer controlled, and almost all of them are electric. Guess what, they still have snafus.

You realize subways are electric, right? You also realize one train can move HUNDREDS of people at once, right? Breakdowns are due to deferred maintenance, not because the concept is flawed.

You realize that subways are electric right?
