I saw commercial for the Durango Hellcat that said, “Forget everything you know about performance SUVs!” So I did. And it was a load off my mind.
Sounds like Dodge making a Mitch Hedberg joke.
Yeah Skarsgard killed that monologue.
Fantastic episode.
Funny you say that, because Luthen and Lonni detailing their own deeply personal sacrifices for the cause also reminded me of another wonderful bit of Star Trek monologuing, from TNG’s “The Defector.”
Luthen’s speech was great. Stellan Skarsgard is just fantastic.
Boo. B grade is not correct.
This is absolutely brilliant, but my 8 year old wants nothing to do with it (and he’s seen a lot of star wars). He watched the trailer and was like, nah, not for me (specifically, no Jedi, the Force or Darth Vader?!). After the first episode, I understood that his instinct was entirely correct haha
Since Kotaku can’t be bothered to seemingly give a fuck. Here’s a touching tribute written on Polygon
Steve Martin’s line reading on “I’m nervous to talk to people, because i can come off creepy.”
May want to note that these displays, called “tifo” are created entirely by the supporters group (for lack of a better term, fan clubs) completely independent from the club. The team had no involvement in the design or paying for the creation of this display. In this case, it was the Timber’s Army Supporters Group.
I see you are a person of taste…
That Smashing Pumpkins track is absolutely stellar. It’s one that still feels fresh and fantastic with every listen.
I remember my brother and I watching this for the first time as kids and feeling like my head was going to explode from the awesomeness. I have such a soft spot for it even 30 years later, as a result. It really did and does deserve a good sequel- and I love the idea of showing an aged Conan much like the aged…
Basil Poledouris seems to be underrated as a film score composer. Such great work in the ‘80s. But yeah, Conan has to be my favorite from him. The music plays a huge part in my enjoyment of this sword and sorcery epic.
I’m not sure the movie is espousing a might-makes-right philosophy. It’s just a lawless world where might equals survival and possibly power. And Conan’s the baddest motherfucker in it. It’s more Road Warrior than Triumph of the Will.
The soundtrack still slaps.
Blue Moon is Man City’s anthem, like You’ll Never Walk Alone for Liverpool or I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles for West Ham. Beard probably saw it as a horrible portent sent by the gods.
