I imagine that this will probably describe the show pretty well, if/when it ever launches. I mean, that basically describes the prequels, doesn't it? O.o

I'm playing 'Castles & Crusades' right now with one of my gaming groups, which is basically AD&D 1st with some minor rules updates.
Me too, but that's mostly because I only (kind of) acknowledge Ep III, which would technically make it a tetrology(?) so it's still a trilogy in spirit. :) If you acknowledge all 3 prequels, it becomes a duology of trilogies, so...
Anyone have a source on the artist for Issue #1 (non-variant)? The artwork looks really familiar, but I can't quite place why...
He probably means Princess/Gods/Warlords, which I believe are the first three and are considered the sort of quintessential "introduction" to Barsoom.
No C, X or Q? But what will we do without our Xtreme Qool letters and our LOLCats?! Won't someone please think of the LOLCats?!
These are awesome and I love these! I would totally let my (theoretical) kids watch a show with these critter designs - well, at least once, to gauge their reaction. xD
Given that life on a colony would likely be difficult, dirty, and, actual work, it probably will take some convincing. I'd say it would be roughly the modern-day equivalent to asking someone to give up their comfy Internet-centric life and go live, for instance, in sub-Saharan Africa, or Peru. Probably forever.
That is one badass f***in' fractal.
Nice excerpt. I really hope Winds of Winter does not take as long as Dance with Dragons. Really, really, really, REALLY hope. Thanks Cyriaque!
I loved this movie when I was a kid. It's schlocky at points and definitely awkward in others, but it was one of my favorite VHS tapes.
Seconded!!
Wow, that is absolutely adorable. Thanks.
Wow... yeah. That really could be him. If it's not, the author is clearly heavily inspired by C&H, both in art technique and in philosophical musings/poetry/warm-and-kind-of-fuzzy sense of humor. I might have to start following that one.
I think we explicitly do not want to use this as a Turing test. Since we have discovered that this may be one possible way to defeat a robot uprising, we certainly do not want programmers attempting to give their programming logic to overcome this obstacle.
So they're kind of like parasites that live on Force energy, so they infect people with a high propensity for it and tuck in for the long haul? Hmm... I could probably live with that as well.
Wait, wait... *midichloria*?
RE: the moon being a faster-than-light vessel, has anyone else read the Dahak books? Zany thriller sci-fi from everyone's loved (or loathed, depending on who you are) author of the Honor Harrington series.
In the ensuing flamewar, if you don't make it, I promise to tell your wife "Hello."
Hey man, you're interferon with our good time here!
