The $$$$ for just the rights alone to use Mystique in a DC property is staggering.
Great point. I tend to stick it out with bad shows way past the point of reasonableness. Especially if it contains zombies.
Me on Friday at around 345 pm.
Im glad they did it the way they did. Sure we all knew he was coming back, but the fact that they didnt drag it out and that Mel brought him back, which most of us all saw coming, did not lesson any of the drama. It enhanced it.
For what its worth, I am ridiculously more giddy for Civil War than a 45 year old man should be. What a great time to be a fan of all this stuff.
Yes, thats exactly what I am saying. They werent aimed at you. Theres no doubt he could have made better movies that would have catered to everyone, ala the original trilogy, the Lego movie and others, but he didnt. My point, which seems to be missed by you, is that at least he created generations of new fans. And…
Thats a great point. As Mystik Spiral commented, quality and kid-friendly do not have to be mutually exclusive.
I never said that they were mutually exclusive. I said he catered to younger fans. Was it at the expense of everyone else? Definitly so. But the silver lining in it was that he did create generations of new fans, my kids included.
I couldnt agree more. Well said. And, I give Lucas credit for that. he catered to younger fans in making the prequels, not to people like me that will debate the merits of the 12 death sentences Dr Evezan actually had. He did so to ensure that more generations of fans will be cultivated. Sure the prequels werent…
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Michael Bay is sniffing around the I09 chat forums... Dont attract his attention.
I think it all feeds into The Mad King loving to F with Tywin, and making such a prideful man come to heel. I like the theory, but its far from perfect.
Yeah, I realized that after I said it. In the books, at some point before Tyrion is born, but after Jamie and Cersei are born, the Mad King has his way with Tywin’s wife Joanna, while he is the Hand for him. It leads to Tywin quitting as Hand and going back to Casterly Rock.
This episode has just re-affirmed my feeling that GRRM may as well never release The Winds of Winter. I just dont care anymore. I get my fix from the show, and more importantly, I get my questions asnwered in a year, not 5.
The DC movieverse is a shit show.
You mean like this?
Speaking of crediting, etc, has anyone on the I09 staff paid attention to whats been going up on The Nerdist lately? In the last few weeks, I counted 3 or 4 flagrant rip-offs of I09 topic/articles. They have no friggun shame.
I look forward to him dying horrifically. I dont buy him and Daisy together. The chemistry between the two actors is off. ANd there is not much likeable about the character, other than cool lightening powers.
Agreed. To me, it looks horrible. Replace all the female leads with male leads and guess what? Its still looks shtty.
Well fucking put. I agree 100%. That was a ridiculously poignant moment and is going to be highly impactful going forward.
