Nah. Compared to the regular wagon, the lifted version just looks wrong. Too high and too long. The cladding isn’t agregious, but it doesn’t help.

Seriously, the BRZ has twice the horsepower of half the cars I’ve owned, and a better power to weight ratio than the vast majority of them, and all my cars have been praiseworthy drivers cars (well maybe not my CRZ, I’m hoping sticky tires help.) I’m really hoping to upgrade to a Toyota 86 when the time comes. I…
Having actually been around VIR, I’d take the BRZ. A slow car fast is more fun than a fast car slow.
i’ve driven cars from 90hp to 500, and i think the 86 is fine the way it is. the only way to really experience that car is flogging it down tail of the dragon. most of these keyboard warriors will never understand the appeal of the 86, and thats okay.
Still feel like the only person who likes the Toyobarus as fine just as they are.
This is an absolute constant on all forums and blogs.
Seriously. Where are the droves of journalists and internet commentariate that are up in arms about power output of the Miata? Here’s the Jalopnik timeline for the 86.
Me, I thought Pingo sounded familiar, but I was thinking Pingu.
How many mechanics need to assist that German engineer and why do you need an engineer for a break lap replacement in the first place?
Had Saab survived, this would have been my next new car.
You take that back
This focus on 0-60 time is stupid. Cars aren’t one-dimensional - there’s so much more to the driving experience. For Porsches in particular, the steering, handling and braking are sublime, even compared to a GTI. And the luxe interior blows away cheaper cars.
The main contributor to this problem is higher beltlines to better deal with side impacts from an increasing number of light trucks on the road.
It’s so true though, It really hits you when you are used to driving an aquarium on wheels and you get in a newer car. The panaraomic windscreen and all the glass around you in my giulia (above) is so amazing compared to new cars with their massive blindspots.
Have we gotten to the point where makeing cars safer and…
They missed the best one.
