Yeah, they felt very much like siblings. And with Donna playing the older sister much of the time.

I kinda love DoaS, mostly for the Williamses.

Jack and River should get a spinoff. A special movie or miniseries, something light and fun to make up for the last season of Torchwood.

Zoe's too.

Legend has it Niven got the the idea for 'The Hole Man' from a sit-down chat he and Jerry Pournelle had with Stephen Hawking back in the seventies.

Not a black hole, but Niven's 'Neutron Star' does physics right for another superdense object. 'Hole Man' does the same with quantum black holes. And he wrote about galactic black holes before I remember seeing anything about them in popularized science media.

You know what I like about Fear Her? Finding out that I'm not the only one who thinks of silver dragees as "edible ball bearings". That's it.

Perhaps the black hole is a more recent phenomenon?

Or a ManBearPig.

I think you've put your finger on why this story doesn't quite work for me as well. It reminds me in some ways of Sunshine and Event Horizon - it starts out combining sci-fi and horror in very interesting and compelling ways, and ends up with Tennant shouting speeches at an gigantic capriform humanoid.

And for similar reasons, LoB is the better movie, even if HG might make me laugh more. I own both, I watch LoB a lot more often.

"…plot and theme…" This!
Some other Python movies may be funnier, depending on taste; but none are better movies.

I like to put a story on my Kindle and watch them over lunch at work, one per day. I find they flow nicely that way.

Yeah, I hate that. And so does Mrs. Lord Gaga.

I won the internets yesterday. I now give them to you.

"Hymie, give me a hand."

"If it isn't my old friend The Craw."
"Not Craw, CRAW!"

"I hope I wasn't out of line with that crack about…"

I love that song. I can sing the album version to this day even though I haven't been able to play the album for 20 years.

Even better, it was after the stock native said "boola boola".
