I was gonna say that you were lucky to even HAVE a 3d screen in your town, but then … well … if that's all you can see … you're really know better off than I am.

Thanks for reminding me of Lohman & Barkley, Badcyclist. I'm gonna have to dig through the garage again and see if I can find that LP of theirs I had. Not aw awesome as their radio show, but yeah, they were great.

Is The Great Gazoo becoming and icon or meme? If so, I vote yes!

@Cliffy: I'll second your love for 'Dick'. And yeah, Rubinek is wonderful in it, as are a number of other great comic actors as other Nixon era icons. And, for one who grew up in that era, I find it strangely cathartic. I actually admired Nixon as a boy (probably the only ten year old who ever read 'The Six Crises'

Seven started out as exploitation, but she eventually gave Voyager something it desperately needed, a character Janeway couldn't dominate. Yes, that could have been one of the former Maquis, but it wasn't.

Robuttnik: If you never have, read the novel 'Enemy Mine' and try to forget the movie ever happened.

Not a Ferengi episosde per se, but House of Quark has a lot of fun juxtaposing Ferengi and Klingon culture, and there's some great interplay between Quark and both Grilka (who uses, and then gains respect for Quark) and Rom (who looses, and then regains respect for his brother).

And, remember that "satirical" "news" show that Fox ran for like 6 episodes. Ugh.

"I challenge you to a romantic dinner."

"You broke your little ships."

Verbing weirds language.

Yeah, I was starting to get dizzy. Maybe I shouldn't drink so much.

1957
Any of you youngsters want a Werthers? I've got some here in my pocket somewhere.

Since no one's mentioned it…
Xanadu was a remake of sorts of the 1947 Rita Hayworth vehicle "Down to Earth". You're welcome.

lexicondevil: Awesome idea! I'm gonna get on that. I always wonder what to do when DSOTM is over and I'm not stoned enough to pass out yet.

I've listened to those songs so many times, Just zis guy mentions a title and I can hear it perfectly in my head. I almost don't need the albums any more.

The Pan-Pacific Auditorium
I know it was mostly FX and stagecraft, but it was neat seeing the Pan-Pacific somewhat resembling it's former Streamline Moderne glory, even if only temporarily (it would burn down in an arson fire less than a decade later after a long period of decline).

In 1974 I bought tickets to see ONJ because my girlfriend was into her (I was a budding young jazz/prog geek) and because the Smothers Brothers were opening. By the time the concert date rolled around, she'd broken up with me, so I ended up going with a friend (he's since forgiven me). My freshly broken heart

I was a huge ELO fan in the Seventies, and believe me I never got any respect from my rock lovin' buddies for it.

In Xanadu did Kublah Khan a stately pleasure dome ERECT!
