Speed runners have played the game hundreds or thousands of times. They’ve seen everything in the game and know it like that back of their hand. Most probably did play and explore at a more normal pace at the beginning. They are well beyond that now.

Builder Mario can also create his own crates out of midair, up to 5. They work just like regular crates. And in multiplayer, each character has their own limit, meaning you can get up to 20 crates at once.
