But again, she’s still Rosalina in America, and NoA and NoE are separate. I think wonder why NoA changed Rosetta, unless NoE worked together to change these names. Are the Pokemon names the same in America and Europe?

Haha. I forgot about all of that, because none of that thinking exists in Japan. Toad’s name is simply Kinopio, and that has nothing to do with the Kingdom nor Peach. But in English, Peach is also considering Princess Toadstool, right? Not in Japanese at all. Same with Bowser, who is called “King of the Koopas”. He

Look, I think this is a shitty move on Nintendo’s part like the next guy, but... fuck Nintendo? Really? I don’t think one stupid mistake is enough to write off the company. If that’s the case, then Sony and Microsoft should be fucked 10 times over.

Like the article pointed out, I think marketing strategy is a simple reason. It might not always (Or even ever) make complete sense, but I assume different regional reps have a bit of creative freedom to change titles just enough to market better to their culture.

That’s great! I’m 32, and have been gaming my entire life as well. It’s a fun generation of people who have pretty much grew up with the entire evolution of video games, but because I know how much meaning games have had for these 30+ years, I will introduce my son and daughter to the very games I grew up with to help

This is a fantastic post, Brian! Thank you for writing it up. Really enjoyed seeing the old pictures, especially since I am very familiar with all of the areas in the modern day, frequently going to most of those locations on a weekly basis. That Shinjuku Station picture, especially, was fascinating!

If you have a PS4, there really isn’t a reason to get this with Bloodborne in the mix now. Dark Souls 2 is awesome, don’t get me wrong, but Bloodborne is fresh and inventive in the same genre. I would recommend it much more than Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin.

I was just being silly, anyway. But statistically, could Bungie tell the difference between a idle player with 0 Kills and 8 Death and a player who sucks that has 0 Kills and 12 Deaths?

It would be unfair to penalize an unfortunate soul who just sucks at Destiny and seems to be “contributing nothing”. ;)

I do understand a lot about cultural differences and that regard in terms of localization, but E.X. Troopers is an interesting case for me. It’s a spin-off of Lost Planet, which is a series that has always sold better overseas than in its native country of Japan. With that said, E.X. Troopers is an action game

I have a curious question, mostly because of how CAPCOM handled the answers to localizing E.X. Troopers outside of Japan. I live in Tokyo, and I recently bought E.X. Troopers on the 3DS when it was on sale a couple weeks ago as part of CAPCOM’s Spring Sale. I was addicted to the game. Fantastic gameplay, looked and

Honestly, it’s in the creators’ hands in the end. I definitely agree with you, Brian, that Bolt should be the English name. It just looks, sounds, and acts as a better transcribe than simply romanizing the katakana.

I’m not a big PC gamer, but I have to be honest, I am SO excited to see what the PC community is going to do with this game! It’s going to be epic.

I voted for an oddball, because I actually think it’s most worthy given the history. I voted for Toad/Toadette/Captain Toad as a set. Toad has been an essential part of the Nintendo gaming universe since the very beginning. He’s been in just about every Mario spin-off game imaginable, he’s always a cornerstone in the

CRAP!! I forgot that was today!! I had so many meetings that it just slipped my mind. Brian, do you know if they’ll be selling tomorrow as well, or is this a one-day thing?

What I mean is that using the word “end” alone might imply that the match was finished, but it wasn’t quite finished is what I meant, hence why I said “towards the end” might bring back speculation from an ignorant person who doesn’t know how the Money in the Bank briefcase works. The match wasn’t over yet, even

Maybe the wording is just a little off, but he technically cashed in the Money in the Bank contract towards the end of the match. It wasn't over yet, so Rollins' cashing in created a Triple Threat match where he pinned Roman Reigns for the title.

Trying to kill wrestling... how? By working his ass off everyday? By changing the face of wrestling? By proving to the world that you don't need to be 280lbs to be a professional wrestler? Yeah. He's killing it all right.

Actually, Hasbro is pretty infamous for extreme trademark prices.

Welcome back!
