I saw The Thin Red Line somewhat recently. I thought it was good but not a masterpiece.

I did put it ahead of the rest. It was still riding the high of Season 1. Sort of like Arrow Season 3, which felt like Season 2 at first.

I get the appeal, but it would be nice if the characters would actually learn from their mistakes. Maybe the show could stop repeating itself so often. It remains very watchable and entertaining for me, but the repetition is unfortunate.

Many people had criticisms of Seasons 5, 6, and 7 as well.

My one request is a)-an actually compelling villain that can sustain a full season, or b)-stop the season-long villains. Cicada was just terrible. The production design really is excellent this season. As for the episode itself, I was actually very interested by it. Still some really bad dialogue and stilted scenes (the romance came out of nowhere), but I didn’t feel the repetition as much, perhaps because of the new setting. Anyone want to do a season ranking so far? I’d go 1>>>>>>>>>2>4>5>3. Last 4 are all about equal though.

They haven’t been able to really do it right since Season 2, so I’m more than fine with them ditching it for the fall. 

He was well-performed and compelling in theory, but the pacing for the season was just off, and it languished for too long on the new team, which I don’t care for. Some of the show’s best episodes and moments, but it didn’t quite come together. 

Emiko’s plot fell utterly flat. Her character is poorly defined and not compelling, and her plan is not interesting or exciting. As soon as that ended, however, this episode became much, much better.
