Couldn’t agree more. It’s extremely annoying that there are people in this commenting thread and elsewhere trying to claim it’s the show’s fault, that it “attracted” a bunch of assholes, which is bullshit. It doesn’t condone Rick’s behavior, it uses it for comedy (it’s a comedy for fuck’s sake, not a character study).

Yeah, you were right in your S4 finale review. The stakes in this story felt forced and perfunctory. Still, even a weaker Brooklyn 99 is still packed with great jokes. Also, thank goodness you’re back!

They did address it-in “Pickle Rick”. The therapist told Rick he uses his genius to justify his shitty behavior, and she was right. The show isn’t saying that all shitty people are smart nor is it condoning Rick’s behavior. It’s portrayed Rick’s situation as a depressed, lonely, alcoholic who copes by being a genius

This season is the best one yet. This article is spot on.

24 episodes in 24 days! That’s gotta be a new A.V. Club record.

Which episode are you referring to?

Still better than most “very special episodes” at least.

My family walked in when the episode was ending. ‘Twas quite awkward.

I think he’s the worst Joker out of all of them, in any incarnation. I even think he’s worse than Mr. Freeze in Batman and Robin.

Captain Holt is love, Captain Holt is life.

I think when that aired there were a subset of fans who complained it wasn’t as good as Season 1. The parallels are everywhere!

You’re right. That was a pretty stupid comment I made on the old system. A writers’ room is a collaborative effort, and this season has been pretty great so far. In my own defense, you do sound a -tad- bit more upset than necessary though, and resorted to childish insults, which made me reluctant to admit I was wrong.

It’s obtuse and stupid. Awful design too. The old design was clean and easy to read.

Seconded.

This new design is awful! Lots of reviews aren’t even available......

Doesn't really have any impact on the quality of the show though. Just its authenticity, which it didn't have much of anyway.

Heh heh. That show is fun. "Good" doesn't even factor into it.

The parts of the show that we all signed up for (the scenes where the heroes actually team up and do superhero stuff) are an absolute blast. Shame the buildup isn't terribly engaging or well written.

Ok, saw the first four episodes. The series takes too long to get the four together but when they do it's damn fun.

Agreed. Haven't gotten around to the show yet, but if it's bad, it's bad because of the writing, not the genre.
