They did go pretty dark with Beth. She's so desperate for her father's attention she'll forgive anything he does. At the end of the episode she handles the episode exactly how Rick would. If she took the therapist seriously she could persuade Rick to go back. But she chooses not to.

The man can cure anything except death and travel to different dimensions lmao. I try not to get too tangled up in the logic of Rick and Morty.

I knew she was the worst after she hit Summer with that wine bottle.

It's dealt with nihilism before, but not like in this episode.

Awesome episode, I agree with you 100%. Though perhaps the Game of Thrones episode preceding is ruining the episode for some people? (I haven't watched it, I'm waiting until it's finished to binge it).

Community's 2nd season was one of the best seasons of any sitcom ever.

It isn't. It's being run by the showrunners of DD S2, which should be good news because one of them is a Whedon alum (Douglas Petrie), but DD S2 kinda sucked.

I kind of agree, but I think we're going to get that again soon now that the family's kind of come to terms with the divorce. Hopefully it doesn't go full Flash and devolve into a dour angst ridden soap opera. Pickle Riiiiiiiiiiiick!

"Used to be?" I've read the old AV club reviews, and they're basically recaps.

They probably should have split this episode up into two parts. It would have had more tension and action sequences.
