Any negative feelings I have towards fashion bloggers (of which I have PLENTY) are entirely due to jealousy. I want a million dollars for taking pictures of what I wore! IT'S NOT FAIR.

Oh my God, yes. I am CONSTANTLY paranoid that everyone hates me and they're all conspiring against me to stop being friends with me or something.
This spoke to me SO HARD.
I'm a regular Maureen Dowd when it comes to me & weed - I have a very, very low tolerance (doesn't stop me, probably should, but I have such fun for the beginning parts!). In fact, I think I'm going to start disclaiming my paranoid behavior as "Don't worry, guys, I'm just Dowd-ing!"
Wait, why is child support "egregious"? "Almost 18" = not an adult and still the responsibility of both parents.
No, but none of those things would "assure" anyone of a particular dog having a stable temperament or being relatively healthy.
Wait, I've always flushed tampons. What am I missing?
Ohhh, I loved Onata Aprile in that movie!!
Yes, exactly. HIPAA is about punishment from the government, not really individuals suing about being victims because of its violation.
Yes, for
Yeah. I didn't say that. But the fact it's a HIPAA violation doesn't mean she is entitled to more money, etc.
Stealing is stealing, even if you give it back. I don't actually give a shit, but I certainly wouldn't characterize that prank as "the best."
I think you're absolutely right.
So, stealing?
This isn't exactly a HIPAA issue (HIPAA doesn't give individuals the right to collect damages, just gives the government the right to impose penalties). She probably only has an invasion of privacy claim, which might explain the shockingly low figure they're asking for.
Interestingly, HIPAA doesn't give an individual the right to collect damages, but rather gives the government the right to impose a penalty.
Just because it's not 100% preventable doesn't mean that they shouldn't be held liable for the actions of their employees. I think you help to avoid it in the future is through education, training, employee screening and better monitoring, honestly.
This must be like cat nip to cable news: (A) horrible violent act that didn't result in the death of the victim (so it's not too sad not to bring out the crazy commentators) + (B) a literal internet bogeyman to blame + (C) ability to craft the story to warn parents of the dangers of the internet = GOLD!
GET OUT OF TOWN. You know who likes Lays Salt and Vinegar? People who have no regard for the physical health of their tongues, that's who.
