Clutch>shift>gas

If you ever get a chance again, when you’ve got the clutch pedal depressed, press the gas till you’ve revved the engine a little (my car has a 6800 redline, so I’d get it to 1000-1500 revs) and then keep it pressed while you ease off the clutch. It sounds like you’re losing revs when you switch from clutch to gas.

Gotta rev that lil thang and dump that clutch!

IIRC JNCOs were always heavy-as-fuck denim. Never lightweight.
