I’m anti death penalty too, but big pharma like this, and the assholes who caused the Flint water crisis almost make me reconsider. Considering how many people die because of these peoples’ actions vs people we’ve executed (sometimes wrongly) for murdering one or two people really puts it into perspective.

Yeah this is my worry about smart infrastructure in general. The more tech you throw into this stuff, the easier it is to attack. 

That’s a very good point. I think we’re going to be in a similar situation with any sort of autonomous vehicles though. I guess we’ll have to see how safe/good at dodging humans they are. If too many people get hit at crosswalks because these cars’ sensors don’t pick them up properly, this shit will get regulated out…

I’m not saying it isn’t useful. I actually love the stuff they’re working on. I’m just saying it seems like a somewhat needlessly expensive path to follow, and possibly not the only option.
