Yep. And when I moved somewhere that was 98% highway driving - minimum 60mph, normal 85-90... yep. Living in the city it was great. Living out in the country it was horrible.

Loved mine. Miss it still. SUCKED on the highway. Badly sucked on the highway.
I’d argue he’s kinda right - the button for comfort is there for those times when you’re stuck on the surface streets and the potholes. Lets you have a track car AND a daily driver in the same vehicle. Both of mine have adjustable dampers - while they’re in sport or the like on the highways, lots of times I have them…
Yep, get neither. Buy something else.
Garbage car. Garbage engine. ND unless <15k.
Bingo. Also, have a coworker with one now - he raved about it the first year, but it’s “just a car” now... which is a big step down for him in terms of reaction. Tells me it didn’t age all that well.
There are 3 months of the year I can get away with driving a GR86 here - even with snow tires. Pass. Lots of folks in places where that’s not really a valid option (although I’ll grant the 2000ft “hills” we have here before you get to the mountains makes my situation more unique).
As someone looking at this, as he knows his next car is either his first BEV or last ICE, this is appealing. I’m in my car ~constantly~. 18k/yr for work alone - totals probably hit closer to 25k/yr, when you add the fun car in. I’ve driven the prior-gen Civic SI. REALLY wanted one as a fun tosser (especially with the…
And in this case, they’re both moderately stale, somewhat boring sedans too (Yes, even the Stinger GT). The stinger dropped off my list as soon as reviews came out - clearly mediocre handling and a good-but-not-great engine didn’t do a thing to interest me. I’d rather have an Elantra-N if I’m going down-market, or…
One of the reasons (living above Denver as I do) that I love TFL.
Snap crackle pop?
Only issue would be time - that’s 3 swaps, one at a time, vs 2 swaps simultaneously.
You keep thinking it’s broken on the Camaro! It isn’t, but you think it. I even dailied it most of one summer and still didn’t get used to it. But I didn’t notice the Z wheel until someone pointed it out. Your mind makes that adjustment instantly it seems for most folks.
Having driven both the 350/370/G37, the VQ35 was happy to rev all the way to redline over and over and over again. When they expanded it to the VQ37, it lost that aspect - it pulled harder sure, but it didn’t really like being wrung out. It wasn’t nearly as fun a motor, even if it made more power.
You’d think so (re: the wheel), but I had both a 350 and G37, and didn’t notice it at ALL on either - it’s just to the right a bit. Contrary point - the tilt from dead straight on the Gen 5 Camaro drives me nuts, and I’ve never gotten used to it after 10 years with my ZL1 (it’s angled towards the drivers door).
They represent nothing.
Wait. That’s my car.
Finally a decent motor selection in the ‘Vette. Now I’m interested again.
This. I’ve got 90-95% of the things I need memorized like muscle memory for anything else... I’d rather not have to look to see “current state” to make a change. Don’t have to with the dial.
I have jalopnik currently muted. What’s he saying?
