That supra - yes. That. Toyota even HAS good TT V6s! But no - only the NA one for the IS/RC... sigh.  Also agreed on that stupid radar fill.  Bah.  Cheap!

Worst I’ve done was 32mpg on a single trip in the bay area (ish, highways back from Palo Alto).  There’d been a flood back home, work buddy and I got the next flight out, threw the bags in the back of the rental, and I put the hammer down.  Set a record getting to the airport, and a record on worst mileage in a prius

Oh I find the German undertones of the new Supra hilarious - that’s for sure. I think it’s the rear of the car that does it for me - something about that reminds me of the original, in some weird way, and makes it click - no bloody idea ~how~, mind you again - but it does. I do wish, like you, that an updated RC had

Significant design departures (at least for later generations), upgraded engines (depending on what comes for the Type-S this may be the same this time around), and, well, media and the time.  That’s a point against nostalgia in general, by the way - there are, as you point out, a hell of a lot of cars in that class

This.  That’s a must have feature for me.

I grew up right in that era. For me, at least, it was the “more fun car” that I could actually realistically ~afford~. A GS-R was theoretically within reach, if I wanted one, and more fun than a base civic/etc - while the E46 M3, Z06 C5, etc were seemingly far out of reach (but still distantly possible compared to the

Dammit Kinja

That’s a PROPOSED technology, not one that exists right now or has been implemented even at a 1:1 scale, never mind tested and peer reviewed at any remotely accurate multi-car scale.

And one of the two is swapping opposite (ish) the other. M550 and ZL1 here - they’d both be running the same “type” of tire at the same time. So I run cat 2 on the M (almost snows) year round, and have (till this upcoming swap) run pure summer tires on the Z. I’m going to go with cat 3 on the ZL1 after this, because

Yep. I’m a huge fan of REALLY good almost-snow all-seasons for daily drivers.  Mine and my wife have the same tires now - and on AWD BMWs, they do great for summer and winter, unless it’s stupid icy (in which case, stay home).

Oh I did a full 360 on the interstate, slid over two lanes (center to far left), and managed to come to a stop in the shoulder about 2" from the jersey barrier. I also, somehow, did not poop myself. Drove the rest of the way home without cruise control and being VERY careful.  That’s one of those “I’m glad I walked

This is only true if you don’t have traction control, and I’ve had it happen (2001 Firebird Formula with summer tires).  Hit water, rears spun, around we go!

This really depends on the tire. There are really 3 kinds of all seasons -

Owned an 01 Formula.  Wanted the Firehawk.  Will own one again some day.  But lord is the interior shit.

IIRC, and it’s been a goodly bit since I looked this up, it’s actually a serious effort to deal with rabies - it’s worked, ~occasionally~, at keeping people alive.  This is one of the virii that seriously scare me - if you get symptoms, you’re a goner.

Agreed, 100% the reverse.  The Fit looks derp, was built to the bottom-of-the-barrel price targets, looks derp, has zero aftermarket of note and no notable history...  and looks derp.  I’d buy a fit if I needed a daily driver on the cheap, but if I’m looking at a 10k funky car, it’s not showing up on the list at all -

Sure it is - until the term “flyover state” becomes literally true, with absolutely no business or reason to go there, nor any easy access.  You have to have an alternative before you can take away the airports.  Outside of major hubs, no one will bother flying to other locations - which yes, will reduce carbon

That... really wouldn’t work all that well, other than isolating 95% of the smaller airports from more than one flight a day to a central hub.

Which leads to planes being out of position, and either dead-heading them (carbon burn for no benefit), or more cancelled flights, and so on.

Road doesn’t stop at 12,100 - Trail ridge blows past 14k, so do quite a few others. That’s still 37% down from peak before tacking on the additional altitude and heat changes. Density Altitude is a function of heat and altitude above sea level.
