This is an AMAZINGLY good take. Have a star.

Counterpoint: The GS was not actually good, and no one really asked for a wagon (that buys new cars). Or they bought an Outback, because Outback. (Or an E63 wagon, because rich). No one in this price bracket (a few oddballs aside) actually buys wagons unless they’re a Subaru.
Sign up for Hertz/National/whoever ahead of time, go out and get your car and talk to no-one.
... Yes.
You could haggle. Just tell them that’s the only way they’re getting a sale, and magically, prices start moving (had 3 at various points in time).
4 is totally subjective (don’t disagree), but 3 goes to my main point with the interior - this is a car designed for autonomy first, muscle-memory driving second. I care less about that in a truck/suv that I’m loafing along in, but care a LOT about that in a car where I tend to buy sporty/cockpit like designs (see:…
Because:
I’d argue it works great for BMW - lots of those sold (I drive one for that matter) and it’s a great way to get 90% of the M car without the price, and sometimes with a few more “daily bearable” options as well.
This is also a good take.
Thirded. I’m interested, because this is basically a M340i competitor. It’s not an M3, but that’s something they lacked (the options on the base ATS/CTS were not competitive across the board before). This I like.
Give it a stick and you have me for sure. Even without, it’s going to be up there.
Eh, I’ve cross-shopped a ton, all within a price range. When I got my ZL1, I looked at: Used Vipers, Used DB9/Vantage, Used R8, TT-RS, Kit Cars, etc. When I bought my C5, I did the same.
Still have to buy it from a Hyundai dealer though. That’s the big issue that makes me pause from time to time (for things like the Veloster N as well). Are they still doing the concierge service, or do you have to go in for service too? Loaners, or is it like bringing in your Accent hatch with crank windows?
Totally fair, just making sure you knew about it. I’ve known folks that were doing fine, but the officers took a ... dim view of driving a Camaro/Vette in the snow when it was bad.
Make sure you look up the positive traction law before they politely impound that RWD car of yours (or carry chains). And yes, while snow tires are supposed to exempt you, we all know how arguing with the nice officer standing out in the blizzard is going to go.
I’m thinking 5th Gen, which was (at least to my eyeballs) pretty darn big - if you can figure out how to get something in there. At least, depth wise - it’s a bit short too.
I had to turn mine in at end of lease (16 JK) - the JL would have been 4k more. Just priced them out recently - I got mine for 33 originally (fully optioned Sport S), and now that would cost me easily 37+ out the door, without adding the hardtop. They’re getting a bit silly.
Vertical space does matter sometimes. As does entry angle. The Camaro, for instance, has a huge trunk - and a tiny opening to get in there. Can’t fit long things, won’t make the turn.
Or maybe, just maybe, it’s the fact that I’m 6'2" tall, with very long legs that have been crammed into the back of the seat in front of me the entire flight, and the sooner I stand up, the sooner the excruciating pain that will result from said standing will pass, and thus the sooner I’ll be able to start walking,…
