I almost feel sorry for the fragile jerks who see a suicide and feel the *need* to declare “weakness!” What is it they’re trying to convey? How strong they are? How little empathy they have, or how little they understand mental illness? Truly sad people.

Kevin, some of these posts about him being weak are legitimately harassment. If someone with depression came across this it would 100% be detrimental to their mental health. Please look into removing them as it is in no way constructive to leave them up.

As someone with friends who’ve had depression take hold of them and wholly consume them, I really, really, really, really fucking hate that you said that.

sometimes you’re just so deep in it, you can no longer see the sunlight shining over the surface of the water.

God, as much as I like the undercut haircut, this protagonist looks like a hipster douchbag.

Honestly, I am already surprised this game turned out to be any good at all. From the first trailers, all I got was the impression of a cheap Souls-like with very drab design.

Thanks for the information; I will continue to stand by my decision to purchase it at a steep discount. This has potential but it sounds like they fucked the combat up majorly. You’re not the only one to mention its combat issues.

There is no foe in gaming so implacable as the locked wooden door.

I get the sense Dontnod doesn’t have a lot of experience or expertise in the combat design department. Remember Me, the only other game they’ve done with a heavy combat element, had a similarly lackluster design and execution in the combat portion of the game.

Yeah. I have zero interest in MMOs. However, I think we all know this is where the business is headed.

we hear it’s an online game of some sort

That’s why whenever my group sees an old women in some sort of plight, we always follow the old adage:

I’ve never understood the “all property is theft” thing. What does it mean, exactly?

Good god, what planet am I living on that more than 0 people feel the need to go to bat for David Cage?! Dude has had consistent work for decades churning out the same hacky, awkward, mediocre, joyless QTE-a-thons, fosters demonstrably miserable working conditions for his employees, and yet is somehow treated with

Just a quick reminder: reviews are, and always will be, products of opinion.

I’m already seeing a few people conflating opinion with statements of objective fact in the comments, and I have to say that it’s as disappointing as it is predictable.

Not every reviewer will like the same things you like, and it is not

Man, everyone loves to get on their knees for Kirk don’t they?

“What meaningful thing did that scene say about domestic violence? That it’s bad? That living with an alcoholic is shitty and stressful? That watching a man abuse a little girl sucks? Okay.”

“Flawed premise, dopey script, counterintuitive controls, total failure to meaningfully engage with the real-world issues it invokes.”

In my opinion, it seems you along with Polygon have some personal vendetta against David Cage. Your review turned me off because of how downright nasty you were throughout most of it, filled with disdain and almost what seemed like disgust for David Cage. As someone who adored Heavy Rain and still plays Beyond 2 Souls
