In case anyone’s not keeping track of the “2020s decade of things that should go without saying but here we are having to say them anyway”:

Christina Ricci is awesome. I realize that she is not Wednesday Addams in real life, but it would be nice if she got revenge on her abuser Wednesday-style

If I had a family member or close friend that was convicted of a crime, even a particularly disgusting one such as rape, it would be pretty hard to refuse a request to write about any redeeming values that might lighten the sentence. It would be akin to disowning them entirely.”
I don’t know if you’re a serial troll

I don’t f*ck with instagram, but I was sexually assaulted by my sister’s husband the first time he visited our home. I was 15. I have just now spoken up after I won’t say how many many years. I don’t care what anyone thinks of me, but he has spent decades shit talking so many people that perhaps the ‘wheel’ will come

It’s extremely common for friends/family of a convicted defendant to write letters for a packet reviewed by the judge ahead of sentencing. Judges have broad sentencing guidelines so that they can use discretion on a case by case basis, and those packets fall under that practice.

Stereogum has a lot more damning evidence for Ashton and Mila:

It puzzles me how many people in showbiz support Roman Polanski since he was known for being a nightmare to work with on films like Rosemary’s Baby and Chinatown. Not that him being a good guy to being around would make what he did less horrific, but it would make it more understandable why people would support him.

What it takes is tens of millions of dollars at a minimum, to get this nascent studio basically operational (hiring a bunch of people, setting up offices, negotiating contracts with all the unions, though that last would presumably be fairly cheap and easy if the whole point of this studio is to be supported by the

Don’t know much about Fran Drescher but from what I can tell she is definitely the person for the job. No offense to anyone who says a strike should be “short and sweet” but that is just handing management the reins. A strike should last until an actual resolution is reached.

I’d like to direct the commentariat to the way the members of the punk band Anti-Flag responded when their lead singer Justin Sane was accused in pretty much the same way Masterson was accused.

I read the bit about how he always respected the women of the cast and crew and it just comes off like “...but what about all the women he didn’t rape!”

Ha. I was sitting here, reading this in awe.

BUT HE SHOWED UP TO SET ON TIME

People can still be good human beings to others and also have sick pathologies, especially of the sexual kind. Those things aren’t mutually exclusive.

Aaaand that’s probably why Topher Grace didn’t hang out with his co-stars.

It’s hard for me to imagine that a child would be better off raised by a multiple rapist, even if he’s promised not to do it again.

Favorite part of Kutcher’s letter is that Masterson “always showed up on time.”

I’m struggling to understand why they would do this. They must think the victims were lying, and feel a duty to help their friend.

Yeah, I mean I’m sure he’s a great guy if you can look past all the rapes.
