I like this as a trailer but it almost by definition can’t have the snap that the animation has. My mind’s eye would still have Tank as the OP but cutting in episode footage in a 70’s cop show style (think Sabotage video).

I’d argue otherwise: yes, fans are going to be taking the adaptation seriously, but you cannot be playing solely to the fans; actors of any sort in a franchise should be dedicated to the production itself. It’s just that the fans’ needs and the needs of the production should have SOME sort of alignment.
