When you use the word “token”, i understand it to mean,”just throw any ole woman up there.” That's the confusion in your post.

What did Mitt Romney ever do with his Binders of Women? I’m sure we can peruse those and scrounge up some broads for these panels.
The point is not adding “token” women. The point is recognizing the knowledge and skills women abundantly have, and are equal to or exceed that of male panalist, and incorporate them equally into the world.
The show is not funny or great. I quit watching. The sexism was the last nail.
Usually not, unless the organizers are not white men. To most white men (and women) who organize these things, white and male looks “normal” so who else would they ask? Way too often the thought never crosses their minds.
The sad thing is they probably don’t think to look. They go through life without having to think about their race or gender so diversity is prob in the back of their minds.
One of my most (least) favorite parts of the Nightly Show is waiting for the one female comic to find an opening to get a joke in. :(
It kinda helps if you vote, like consistently, in the non presidential elections, ‘specially if you’re in a smaller district.
Fuck you House Republicans. Seriously, I’ve had it. And the fuckers who voted you in too.
This shit scares me, so so much. I am so worried about what’s going to happen if the GOP takes the presidency. This is the first election where I am genuinely terrified and not nearly as hopeful as I have been previously.
My state has continuously been trying to pass anti-abortion legislation since the republicans took…
“But I vote third party/Hillary and Barack are EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE GOP...”
When you vote GOP, this is what you’re voting for.
Because somebody otherwise might catch a glimpse of part of a circle of slightly differently-colored skin?
Maybe I’m weird, but wouldn’t it be rad if she didn’t even bother with the straps and boobs weren’t such a big deal? Boobs weren’t always extremely sexualized like they are now.
Bulgarians like chubby Canadian women, right? *crickets*
Um, maybe we could worry about kids not driving drunk and having unprotected sex? Are backless dresses really at the top of the priority list?
This is utter BS. I have been watching all of my friends feeds, and literally EVERYBODY’s daughter/niece/granddaughter/whatever is wearing backless dresses this year. It’s a thing apparently. But it is several measures beyond fucked up to wait until the week before prom to bring this up. If they were serious about…
even some of our male students, who had some serious concerns
I was dumb and tanned for a few months in high school and college. It still makes me cringe, ditto to the fact that I used to smoke (though I sometimes miss the smoking, but not the tanning).
