Trump: “Right now, I think it’s under control. I’ll tell you what —”
Since we’re talking about the Axios interview, my favourite part is Trump rambling about the “new phenomena” called mail-in voting, and Swan points out that it dates back to the Civil War.
The transcripts are always more horrific than the audio.
And there was this gem of an exchange when Swan challenged tRump’s assertion that he’s done more for the Blacks than any other president:
I watched the entire interview of AXIOS on HBO, man this is just come of the crazy shit he said. To DATE Johnathan has been the ONLY interviewer to make him look like a fucking moron. My jaw dropped when he said this, but it wasn’t surprising. Johnathan did something no other interviewer ever did, he asked “who said…
I’ve heard so many crazy stories about parents from the US who have autistic children and what they resort to, in order to try to cope. Genuinely curious about parents from other countries? Canadian parents with autistic kids - do they do this crazy stuff? Germany? UK? France? Ireland? Japan? China? Just wondering if…
This sounds like a cannibal witch take. Cannibal Witch, I have long defended your habit of eating children. They were bad children and they had it coming. But this breach of journalistic ethics, writing a blog post demeaning demons just to try to get laid, is crossing a serious line.
This scene alone... Zendaya is great:
And an anti-choice rally at 4, and I can't be seen here!
Having to pay for abortions, jesus christ your country is fucked.
Intermediate text: “How long do you think this is going to take? I’ve got a Campus Republicans mixer at 3.”
Yeah, instantly thought of this line from a now-old splinter article:
He just looks like a guy that has paid for a girfriend’s abortion and didn’t go with her or support her in any way. Probably sent a text saying: “report back”
Something to note: Hawley’s position is out of the mainstream and further to the right than any public poll currently supports. Yes, the anti-choice crowd is loud, but in general people don’t agree with these kinds of absolutist stances on abortion.
it’s a pretty pervasive mindset. like the guy who loves to talk about how he’s “worked hard for everything he has.” Then you find out his parents paid for university, his father got him an “in” at the company he works for, he didn’t move out until 30, etc. etc. etc.
Ivanka Trump is the physical manifestation of “the unexamined life is not worth living.”
At least they have masks visibly on.
Based on what her little boy said, Naya Rivera used the last of her strength and the last moment of her life to save her son. It’s incredibly moving and humbling to think of such a move of pure love and heroism.
When I was stationed in Germany they didn’t require seat belts but if you weren’t wearing one in an accident, your insurance didn’t have to cover you. We need laws like that. Not laws that force people to do things, like wear masks, buy laws that punish them for being stupid. You don’t HAVE to wear a mask but there…
I think it would be nice if we could get a list of everybody involved, and when they show up at the hospital with symptoms, tell them, “sorry, you’re responsible for your own medical decisions. Nobody would have even known you were sick if you hadn’t told us. Besides, more than 99% recover. Stay in your house.” Then…
