I don't know if I'll ever get out of my head the image of the Lavender Hen Mother searching for her missing eggs hours after they were taken!

Cruelty-free eggs are a thing and you should buy them if you can afford it.

Aren’t vegans still an extreme minority of eaters? I’m looking at an article from the Independent, but it doesn’t draw a solid line from point a to b... omnivores appear to be just as subject to food trends.

How is veganism in particular destroying the environment? I thought it was the best option going forward if you care about that sort of thing a lot.

Just commenting to agree wholeheartedly.

Fuck, Psy’s song ‘Gangnam Style’ is LITERALLY about people pretending to be wealthier than they actually are.

I don’t click on “all of the coverage”, but I sometimes click on the ridiculous bullshit and comment appropriately, usually never receiving a single star and always not caring. Usually, I stick to the occasional article that actually speaks to any necessary social change that moves us toward a comapssionate society of

Priyanka Chopra had this extravagant wedding in a country where almost a quarter of the population lives in extreme poverty. Half of all Indian children under five are malnourished because they don’t have access to food.

Because we’re all part of a society and have to share this planet. You can have a big party and celebrate your big day, but at some point excess becomes offensive

This is precisely what makes the whole story so fishy. Influence clearly has been peddled, and so many powerful yet shady men involved.

Am I the only one who’s over those expensive (US$1,000+) Canada Goose jackets?  I see them everywhere.  Meanwhile a friend of mine is begging people through social media to donate sleeping bags so that homeless people in my city don’t freeze to death on the sidewalk.

Given the other incidents, it seems like what Hunt has is an anger problem and possibly an alcohol problem.

I consider myself a liberal, a progressive, an ally . . . all the things that privileged white guys tell themselves to justify the comparatively easy road that has been laid out for us from the get-go. But as I was reading this my first thought was, “why does it matter? He assaulted this woman; why get pedantic about

And here, we have someone who reads a whole well-written column about why this is not “needlessly pedantic”, and then makes a comment about how it is needlessly pedantic.

At what point is a person’s crimes so egregious that, regardless of how much wealth and influence they accrue, judges and prosecutors see a deal like this and say “no fucking way, your client has to rot”? Because I would think Epstein exceeds that threshold and yet, here we are.

The real question is, “why did Acosta let Epstein off with a slap on the wrist when any other prosecutor, equipped with such a damning case, would have put any other defendent away for life?”

This seems... excessive. If you literally can’t drag a train with your own head & a comb in your hair, then it’s a little much. Unless after the ceremony she’s cutting it up into veils for women who can’t afford them for their own weddings or auctioning it off. But whatever, to each his/her own, I guess.

Jebus, that train is longer than the long end of my house. The train could probably serve as a fumigation tent for my house. Hey, it’s their money and they can do whatever they want with it, but it seems unbelievably tacky.

THIS IS SO WASTEFUL!!! I get that you should splurge on weddings because in theory you only marry once (maybe again if your spouse dies)* and it’s your day, blah, blah, blah, but COME ON! This is like Kardashian levels of wasteful spending.

The public’s obsession with royals — official or not — is both saddening and maddening, with their wastefulness and utter disregard for the poor and the horrific conditions they live in.
