Ditto...sitting in traffic means I actually get to shift. Cruising means I’m just driving along in 5th or 6th for long stretches, which is boring.

Yeah, I rented a Mazda3 that I drove from the airport in Nashville to our office in Bowling Green...pretty much mastered the infotainment on the way. It looks clunky, but works surprisingly well.
I’m going with a Hyundai Elantra Sport because all the standard answers have been given...the trim specific mods (tail lights, exhaust, wheels) set it apart from the standard variants. Still not cool enough? How about a pop-pop from the exhaust when you pull away from the kiddo’s school?

The stuff of nightmares...
Not all “creationists” are new earth types...you can neither prove nor disprove the existence of a deity or that a deity set the Universe in motion. My personal opinion is that it’s irrelevant, but also that it’s disingenuous to suggest that evolution and intelligent design are mutually exclusive. My position has…
Damn, you beat me to it.
Take your effing star.
Thanks for the insider’s insight.
Thanks! It was in my head thanks to a recent episode of American Experience about the Gilded Age. The ostentatious Manhattan home of the impressively canny Alma Vanderbilt was considered quite gauche by New York’s established social oligarchs (classic old-money v. new money). But the woman had taste, threw an absurdly…
I agree; it’s gauche...maybe to make buyers see the purchase of an A90 as an investment?
I think that is actually the point. Some dealership bought the car as a showpiece. Would they be willing to sell it? Sure, everyone’s got a price. Primarily, they are hoping to wow uninformed buyers by displaying a supposedly (not really) half-million dollar car.
Or...consider that these are tech not automotive design companies. They would say the elegance is in the 1s and 0s in the code, and the packaging is secondary. It’s also very likely that it’s easier to implement with this form factor rather than that of a traditional automobile. As the technology matures, so will the…
Top Renault execs even went to Japan to figure out what happens next, which apparently “caught Tokyo by surprise,”
And that’s not hot?
Thank you...especially if you live someplace where it’s brutally hot 6-8 months out of the year.
Life-long Dallasite...can confirm. But my experience is that we fall along the same distribution of tippers as anybody else in the country. Most folks I know would never write something like that on a receipt. We’d tip 20%, quietly leave the restaurant and call the manager the next day to get the server fired. We’re…
Bupra? Bimpra? Supemdoubleyou? Spimmer? Zupra (stole that)?
How realistic is that people are going to tune this car at that price? Sure, people tuned the hell out of the MkIV, but wasn’t that years after it stopped being sold? The 86/BRZ has a pretty big aftermarket, but those are cars that start at $25k new; sure it’s not chump change, but it’s not $50,000 either. Is Toyota…
I’ve been boycotting Gilette for years...because shaving sucks.
