I’ve never driven anything with this new adaptive cruise crap in it so i don’t understand the point you’re making at him. To my knowledge the adaptive cruise is supposed to allow the car to slow down if traffic in front slows down without input from the driver. My question is why the hell are you entrusting those

I wish that driver assistance systems were designed so that they amplified the drivers skill rather than replaced it. Something like GM’s night vision for example. It actually makes night driving safer.

Agreed. People are going to lean on and abuse this technology despite it’s shortcomings. So until we can get every vehicle to Level 5, these crashes are going to continue to happen. Automakers have enough on their plates trying to get us to stay in our lanes, look when backing up and keep us from crashing into the

Yeah, I drive a car in Texas, so I’m constantly behind pickups I can’t see over/through, but I still generally know where the cars in front of the truck are via shadows or small lane shifts.

As a BMW driver, they are all my lanes. :)

This is why I don’t understand Autopilot. If it “requires” you to be 100% attentive, hands on the wheel, foot at the ready to smash the brake - then what is the freaking point at all? It’s completely and utterly hopeless and useless.

Then you have the branding - “Autopilot”. Tesla supporters will tell you that real

So at this point Tesla is saying that if you don’t drive the car, then autopilot isn’t responsible. What’s the point of autopilot if you have to pay attention to every single thing happening with your car and on the road... they are saying their tech is no better than cruise control by everything you have to still do.

Many experienced drivers know to look ahead of the car in front of them: Is traffic far off ahead coming to a stop? What’s the driver in front of me about to do encounter?

Do these systems not have the ability to look through another car’s glass to help anticipate stuff like this? I mean sure, that’s not always an option. There are plenty of windowless trucks and vans out there, and sometimes cargo gets in the way too. But I’ve found myself in situations where looking through the car

Average? Probably. Many experienced drivers know to look ahead of the car in front of them: Is traffic far off ahead coming to a stop? What’s the driver in front of me about to do encounter?

They’re just accurately simulating real world BMW drivers

“The feedback that we get from our customers shows that they have a very clear understanding of what Autopilot is, how to properly use it, and what features it consists of.”

The important questions are left unasked: Where can one purchase an inflatable Ford Fiesta, and will it float if filled with Helium?

Its in EVERY video, the Tesla is following too closely. My auto follow cruise control in the nearest setting is still about 2.5 seconds back from the car ahead. Tesla’s sure like to tail/stalk their target.

A German fetish princess, honestly underwhelmed. I expected more from those Teutonic weirdos. Unless the fetish is driving a woman into a secluded field in an unreliable car, in which case, overly complicated and very German.

Congrats!

Hopefully it is off roading Fiat Pandas

I bet her fetish is just being a princess. Ride horses, wear dresses, go to balls, learn political intrigue, lose all expectation of privacy, PR shitshows, an inflexible schedule that leaves no time to yourself, an arranged marriage, 20 people telling you what to do every day, standing awkwardly for hours smiling at

Congratulations, Mr. For Sweden, on COTD! I would like to gift you with a Fiat which this lovely lady will deliver with whatever her fetish is.

Hi Mergio can I trade this award for majority ownership in FCA?
