In V6 trim they were quite fun.
My van runs 2400 at 80. (4-speed)
You realize most econoboxes are running well over 3k at 80mph right?
I always find it funny when they’re clipping and weaving on the highway, then I get off the highway only to pull up next to them at the first red light.
It looks to be really well cared, I’m not one to be scared of mileage, but $7k for a 95 with 200+k?
Next time go up on the metal casing where the filter meets the engine. Us a flat blade on that edge and tap it with a hammer. The blade will bite into the double portion of the filter, then a couple more taps and it’ll start spinning.
Instead of punching the screwdriver through the filter, get a flat blade on the mating edge. Usually a couple taps with the hammer and it spins right off.
Ass of the day?
I’ve had enough issues with ordering parts only to get them home and find the parts store computer has the wrong part listed that I always bring the old part with me. At least 50% of the time, the part the computer says I need is wrong.
If he can’t fix those, how is buying a car over his budget that will still need repairs going to help him?
So the 3 vehicles you bought from a private party:
Napa and Weavers are generally decent to deal with around here. Although Napa’s experienced guys are all starting to retire and it seems they haven’t taught their younger replacements, so they seem to be falling by the wayside as well.
He has a Saab that leaks oil, the other’s current issue is finding wiper blades. Neither are hard fixes if the guy is any good at wrenching. He could just fix the 2 he has the right way, then he’d have 2 good vehicles. He also wouldn’t need the extra cost of a car payment, insurance, etc.
The dude has next to no money, putting himself further in debt is not going to help that.
Parts Guys are generally idiots around here. Walk in with a part/part number in hand and they’ll still try to argue that it won’t work for your vehicle.
Still doesn’t mean nothing will go wrong.
I know they had T-tops as well. Don’t know about the rest.
They usually try to argue with me about the parts not being in the computer or not being applicable to my vehicle for the next 5 mins before grabbing my parts.
Yes, buy a used car.
