That looks fancy. Missing the gold wheels and 130k miles but the price is decent. Retained a lot more value than any other 10+ year old Japanese sedan

Great choices. I loved that Legacy’s body style, the headlights were aggressive without the squinty-angry face look modern cars have. I also liked the refined look as compared to the Imprezas.... now the Impreza is the refined look and the Legacy looks like an Accord.
I also obsessed over the Supra when I first got into cars. I had the chance to buy a ‘97 TT Mk IV in green with a tan interior & automatic back in 2006 or 2007 for $20,000 even.
Same. Dang
My girlfriend has two bumper stickers on either side of her license plate. Sports teams. She’s been in five accidents in two years. Perhaps there is a ratio of bumper stickers to accidents?
I really like the styling actually, the grill is obviously over the top but that’s most modern cars now. My only real complaint is that the price is up in Audi territory, and all else equal I’d buy the Audi just for the history... but I’m also a “quattro fanboy.”
Damnit Raphael, don’t tell people this. I very seriously looked into importing one of these and even got in touch with some TVR shops and local shops to network parts from. I looked at several for sale (be very careful as the outriggers that hold the panels on are prone to rust!) but I had difficulty finding what I…
“if you can get past the ‘70s orange and brown color scheme.”
Nice looking car. Blue on blue makes a comeback, I remember a few 80s/early90s cars with that blue interior. I like the styling otherwise though. Kind of interesting that it follows the usual ford path NA V6 to 2.7L ecoboost but instead of the 3.5L ecoboost uses a 3.0L ecoboost but makes more hp than the standard…
Hahaha that’s hilarious. Well done.
Ah yes I had one of those. Half of the interior parts were out of the same parts bin as the same year (‘03) Camry. It did have a really excellent sound system though, better than any car I’ve had since (although I haven’t had a “luxury” car since the RX)
A bunch of boring FWD sedans, hatchbacks, and crossovers in a market crammed full of them. Not that I’m not excited, I think it’s cool to have variation and I used to have a soft spot for the Citroen Xsara when it was a WRC car. But look at the Vauxhall GTC VXR... looks like a cool car, but there’s a reason why it’s…
I agree - I remember reading about the LFA rumors before pricing was announced and thinking “oh cool, that will really give the Porsche 4S and Audi R8's a run for their money.” Then the announcement came and it was more than double the price point I expected. Not that I was going to be able to buy one anyway, but I’m…
That’s a smart test
I think a PPI where the vehicle doesn’t go on a lift is a waste of time, unless you can’t be hassled to do any research on the car you’re buying at all. I can conduct a visual, smell, & scan tool inspection on my own with just as much detail as a generic PPI with a few days worth of internet research (admittedly in…
Mitsubishi’s DOHC 4G63 ran for over 25 years with only minor changes and it was a great engine. I think having so many Subaru’s on the same old engine is good, it’s a great platform to start and now there are inexpensive parts everywhere for it.
Agreed on both points. However, I’d still love to have one even with an automatic (dual clutch, whatever).
As an enthusiast, I’ll rejoice when I see this in AWD. Or perhaps some spin-off of the i20 WRC car with AWD. It’s a cool car, but I’m just so tired of turbo FWD hatchbacks.
Must be a Florida resident
I’ve seen that clip posted almost every time there is a crash test post here. I definitely think modern cars are safer, but that particular clip is a little suspect to me.. there’s a lot of frame rust on that Bel Air and definitely something up with the engine bay. Don’t get me wrong, I think new cars are far safer…
