@alfredcueball: We were in a solar minimum, basically the sun was a ball of fire, nothing exciting. No sunspots no flares, nothing for about 8 straight months if I remember correctly. I watched it for about 90 days of those on the SOHO website and it was just a featureless ball bland and featureless. Then sun spots…

@worsethannormal: The measurement of the position effects the speed and the speed effects the position, so once you've measured either one a plot of the measurements would be different than if it wasn't observed, or depending on which measurement you went with. Plus the paper keeps falling off the table.
