The thing is Jesus was even stricter on Christians. Matthew Chapter 7
1. Someone who doesn’t have a baby and pays for health insurance that covers babies gets cancer.
Thats how insurance works. I pay taxes for things Ill never use but other people will. Meanwhile other people pay taxes for stuff they dont use but I will. Give and take, its not a hard concept to understand.
Person without baby pays for one vaccine shot for baby. Person with baby pays for one month of birth control pills for person without baby. A rising tide lifts all boats! We all win!
Everyone is covered and due to this coverage all parties are able to go get medical care before issues escalate and medical costs explode and have to get picked up by the state therefore costing more money to all taxpayers and we all end up drowning in debt in while for profit companies eat up all the money in the…
Spoiler Alert: The thing you’re quasi-bitching about here is called “society”.
You don’t understand: you’re paying into a pool to HELP with newborn care. You’re not getting it. Don’t worry! Just like how you pay into a pool to help with Syphilis and you don’t have it, right?
and if they go to an emergency room, and can’t afford the services they’re provided, guess who is picking up the tab, sport.
The way insutrance works is that instead of paying piecemeal, we all chip in a bit for things we may not need to keep overall costs down. Please call me when you need dick pills or have prostate cancer so I can tell you ‘too bad, shouldve been a woman, I don’t use any of those things’
Oh, you mean things that young single men (the ones who are currently paying the penalty rather than get insurance) don’t need or want?
I’m a young single man, and I’d appreciate it if you, a shithead, wouldn’t speak for all the young single men.
Yep. Those young men were babies once. And fuck babies, right?
Yes, those things necessary to the sustainable welfare of the country where those same young men were quite likely educated and enjoy employment.
It’s America’s particular strain of Christianity dating back to Calvinist Puritans’ concept of grace: if you’re destined for heaven that grace will be reflected in your Earthly life.
BTW, this is all rooted in this bullshit perverted evangelical Christianist belief that sickness and misfortune come from sin, so essentially sick and unfortunate people bring this on themselves. The Prosperity Gospel is a lie from the pit of hell.
Counterpoint:
Because people who lead “good lives” never get cancer, strokes, ALS, etc. He’s pretty long in the tooth to be tempting fate this way. I would never wish debilitating sickness on anyone, but in his case I’ll make an exception.
So many of my comments in real life and here and elsewhere on the web boil down to “Jesus, look at this fucking asshole right here”, and I mean to one day change that and cleanse myself of this all-consuming hatred, but Jesus, look at this asshole right here.
What then, sport?
“See, you can make it work. You struggle through it.”
