The practice of blaming employees for a failure of leadership is one of the more annoying things about American culture. Our Reardenesque captains of industry can do no wrong.*

I always take the word of anonymous millionaires.*

Ladies and gentlemen, here for your examination is Commenterius Jalopnikus, a subspecies of Dickus carforuma. They are renowned for their persistent mating call, the "pointless comment."

Most likely not at first, if ever. It will probably be a lot like Apple TV, where only approved third parties get access to the CarPlay SDK.

Just checking in on the commentariat.

There are probably a lot of things I'll regret. This one seems unlikely because

I commute two miles. If I get a commute that requires a significant drive, I'll get snow tires.

If they're so skilled, they may want to train their intuition to handle traction control.

I'm glad you're so prepared. I'll just call a cab or take the bus on the 1 out of 4 snow days where there's significant snow on the road.

I'm not buying and storing a set of winters for the 4 days of snow we get in NoVa. Sorry.

It is possible for tuners who can do major modifications. It just doesn't seem possible for mass production on the current car. Though I would be happy to be proved wrong by a BRZ STI with big-ass hood vents.

There won't be a turbo until there's a major update. In addition to being physically difficult to package a turbo, there's also no way to properly dissipate the extra heat.

Great essay.

They recently released an OS X version. It's just the Windows version in a WINE wrapper, but it's worked pretty well for me.

"Suck at driving" taken here to mean people who mash the throttle at any rev in any gear and expect a turbo or sheer displacement to provide whatever they need. The BRZ is very easy to drive, so I am specifically referring to people who can't shift.

Look, if a significant number of people start reclassifying it as something other than a sports car, even though my senses tell me that it is, then fine, I'll grudgingly agree and reconsider. When J. Random Internet Dude lays down his preferences as the definition of what makes a sports car, I'm not going to agree.

A sports car that's easy to have fun in. Plus, in high-performance driving, a sports car that absolutely teaches you how to retain speed.

Additionally, the "if entered in any kind of motorsport event" thing is silly. It does reasonably well in its autox class. You'll get smoked at track days, sure, which actually shouldn't matter as long as you're having fun.

You're being way too protective of the sports car label. A GTI is a fun car, with its compromises in favor of practicality. A sports car's practicality is compromised in favor of fun. A sports car is not a race car.
