I’d say that the older skaters are still generally more skilled than the young girls who are doing quads. There is more to skating than the jumps and spins even if those elements are the most spectacular and most easily understood by a general audience.

The comment section on the mailonline isnt full of everyday people. It’s full of fascist misogynists, and they’ve been there since long before Meghan and Harry even met. It’s a cesspit and not indicative of how your average British person thinks and feels.

I don’t think it was the Knocked Up stuff as much as the perceived feud, real or not, with Shonda Rhimes. Not just the salary negotiations, but the rumors that after Knocked Up, she thought she was getting bigger than the show and wanted off to do movies full time. Combined with the whole ‘I didn’t submit myself for

I don’t think I’ve ever actually read that comments that sunk Heigl’s career, but seeing them now it strikes me that 1) she’s absolutely right about Knocked Up; 2) her comments would be received rather differently–that is, more fairly–today, I think.

This is exactly the mess Coveney was warned of by the Medical Council of Ireland in December, when they begged him to defer the implementation date of the law by up to three months.

For my bachelorette party, we all watched this movie and loved it. We’d all seen it before back when we were 16 and 17. Let me tell you, it truly delighted a room full of 30 year old women. It still holds up. Tess still sucks.

To be fair, I think Knocked Up does a pretty bad job of making that point.

When I saw 27 Dresses in theatres, I thought it was the height of mediocrity, though were quite a few things I did enjoy about it. I was surprised though, when over the years, it became the poster child for bad rom coms. There are so many worse films from the genre.

So, a disclaimer: I’m an OG Roswell-stan, so I end up liking Heigl a lot more than your average person (though found it hilarious she trashed the writers of Grey’s Anatomy when I’m like... “... but you came from Roswell!”)... but I never understood the hate this movie got.

I’m surprised to hear he’s still driving. I know the Queen still drives around the grounds of her property for fun and shit, but she’s not driving “near” the estate, she’s driving on the estate.

That face tho

Are we ready to unpack the mountains of squickiness that is the Celine Dion/Rene Angelil marriage?

Wasn’t Celine Dion’s marriage like super creepy where she met him when he was 40 and she was 11 and he was her manager while she was a kid?

Kate's not upper class. Her background is middle class.

I feel this way a lot of the time and I’m currently serving. I don’t stand when the stadium PA announcer asks veterans and service members to stand and be recognized. Airlines allow active duty service members to board early; no thanks, my ticket says Goup ZZ thanks. The issue isn’t my service (which I’m very proud

The only thing worse than Veterans would be, like, a blatant racial slur or something.

The funny thing is, while this seems like a premature retirement, historically 31 is old for a tennis player. It shows how much the game has changed this century.

Of the 4 Murray seems to have the most character and the one I think is most likely to have played tennis without doping.

This is sad news. Murray had many virtues as an athlete. I particularly appreciated his insistence that women’s tennis players receive equal treatment and attention.

Bummed to hear this. Andy Murray has always been a classy player and will be missed on the tour. I’ve seen him play multiple times including the 2012 US Open when he won. The question is will he retire a Scot or a Brit?
