The truth is even better: the Queen of England herself directly ordered the performance. No stuffy colonels could get in the way of that. She has been a true fan for decades.

Camilla and Charles go to hundreds of events/tours/etc. a year.  Most of them are not reported in America news because they aren’t as “cool” as the younger royals, but they do way more.

I almost wish that Prince Phillip and Prince Charles had been there and had been their utmost condescending. Which is exactly why they were not. Phillip is a dick on a good day and Charles is very open about his beliefs on things like the environment.

Obama is just so good with kids. Kids seem to just love the hell out of Barack Obama. Some sort of mutual fascination and respect.

Meghan is a 36 year old women, very used to the spotlight and cameras, and seems to have the protection of her new husband and his family. I’m guessing that the huge crowds are a bit daunting (‘ohmygod, these people are here for me?’), and maybe she’s looking a bit hesitant at times, but otherwise?  She looks happy…
