Maybe it’s only because I was cramping while watching this, but I could not help but watch a flaming TARDIS expel someone and think of menstruation.

Personally, I was more surprised that they didn’t play more with Hartnell’s supposed racism or homophobia. Bill Potts encapsulates both—and she’s even named after the guy!

Which is so sad when you consider how many woman were involved in the show. Verity Lambert! Delia Derbyshire! The show would have been nothing sans the woman behind the scenes.

According to the TARDIS Wiki:

I think the sexist remarks were more aimed to the audience members who are unhappy a woman is going to be playing the Doctor. There’s enough of it going on that might force the regeneration to go one way or the other.

POLLY: You’ve found something.

If there’s anything that’s happening 15 years later, it’s that Copperhead’s daughter wants revenge.,

Oh dear, now here’s where these “multiple Doctor” scripts run into a slight problem: 12 should not have any questions or surprises in this episode, seeing as how he’s already been through all this.

Ah, I thought I spied a Father Thing in there.

Kinja really needs a block or mute function.

Ah yes, I can hardly wait for the 2-hour “End of Eva” style “true” ending that answers zero questions.

These episodes always remind me of how Kurt Vonnegut used Kilgore Trout to float an idea he knew he was never going to flesh out.

Always steal from the best.

Do we know if he has a motorcycle yet?

“A dead girl or a live boy,” as the saying goes.

“They’re making the group acceptance noise. Am I supposed to make the group acceptance noise with them?”

Really, she’s the Third Lady, but whatever.

Before we worry *too* much about Pence, I think we should all read up on Gerald Ford. Guy couldn’t get jack done. That’s why the GOP is in such a mad rush to get all their democracy-destroying shit handled the first week.
