Considering those downvotes, not just my problem. I just bothered to say 'you suck' to your face.

Reading comprehension fail: I didn't say that you had to find the American Dad joke an inspired bit of genius; I said you- the you in this case meaning Walker or Diesel (otherwise why would it be a personal insult?)- would have to be a humorless, self-important homophobe to interpret the joke as anything but

It's half of life expectancy. It's a lot of waste.

Unless you've hacked my webcam, I'm not sure how you know that I'm gnashing my teeth and weeping. I'm noting that it's sad in a public forum because this particular man's death has been noted in a public forum. Young people needlessly dying is always sad; it's not always noted publicly. Hope that clears it up for

Yeah, that was my point: no one knows so how is anyone judging?

No. Everybody gets an equal shot at being a tactless asshole.

So, at 65 MPH it's a tragedy and at 66 MPH it's a Darwin Award? Living in black and white must be comforting.

I wasn't aware Merriam-Webster had redefined "edgy" as "pointless assholery".

Who's to say that he didn't?

As it happens, I do disagree with you w/r/t American Dad— but how I feel about that particular show was not the point of my original post. Instead I was positing that Paul Walker and Vin Diesel were secure enough with themselves enough not to be insulted by the gay porn joke- that both men weren't so ignorant as to

Except I didn't downvote you. And what I find off-putting about your previous comment is your general condescension rather than your personal position on American Dad. I promise I'll get around to downvoting you later though, OK? And good day to you too, sir.

Agreed

Not sure what your problem is. Not sure I care.

One should refrain from commenting on cultural issues if you cannot distinguish between cynicism and contempt. The former can have some intellectual rigor to it; the latter is the lazy product of any asshole with an ax to grind.

Oversimplifying is the same thing as lying in this context. Coming from a gay black man, Hanna is hardly just a hot, privileged white girl, and to say so is to deliberately attempt to make her smaller than she is- which is a familiar majority tactic to most minorities, especially women.

Fair enough, then. I wasn't exactly sure what you meant, but I was sure 'Guest' was being needlessly flip and disrespectful. Sorry if it seemed I was jumping down your throat.

So, if Kelly Rowland or Michelle Williams dies, you'd be cool with "R.I.P. Not Beyonce"? A person should be acknowledged as an individual in death, not a type.

There is no personal insult in the American Dad subplot. It's a pure conceptual joke and it's a brilliant one. You'd have to be a humorless, self-important homophobe not to find it funny. Neither Walker nor Diesel seem(ed) insecure like that.

Not really slasher or torture porn, more extreme suspense/thriller. Joy Ride is surprisingly tense and good.

Seriously. Seemed like a good guy.
