Updated to 8 on my 5s. Works like a charm. It's so much more stable than I expected, and I am loving the new features. I highly recommend doing this.

Although not on the same scale, I remember getting up at 2 in the morning and waiting outside my local Target for the Pikachu 3DS XL (American Release). I got there 2nd in line, and by 20 minutes before opening, there was at least 150 people in line by the Target entrance.
