LAMAR is everywhere, it’s not locally based like the article states. Unless they’re a franchise of billboards and the actual ad vetting agency is local? Either way they would be answering to LAMAR national HQ not just whatever city they’re in.

Depends, but most times billboards in given areas are owned by the same company. The other non-independent option is ClearChannel but they don’t have nearly as much inventory as Lamar does.

Look at the bottom of all the billboards you see. Lamar is on almost all of them. Despite “laws” against them, this country sure rubs their dick on a monopoly...

Pretty much. I have had lottery fantasies of buying up a bunch of boards with my ill gotten gains and rolling deep with these sorts of messages.

Given they are the largest (owning some 400,000 boards).. its a pretty good bet that they might be the only game in town sadly. Though it would be interesting to see what would happen if you worked with a friendly owner to erect your own on their land.. (in competition with Lamar)
