Yep. This is my response, too, the the people who say “well I never used physics, why does my kid need to?”. Because maybe, if you taught your kid physics, they would discover they love it and want to make a career out of it. By not teaching them that, you are deciding FOR them that that is not an option.

I try really hard not to criticize how other people parent their children... Co-sleep or cry it out, natural birth or c-section, attachment parenting or au pair, working mom or stay at home, I won’t weigh in on another parents decisions in any of those areas.

I did some police ride alongs as part of my job, and I remember the police officer griping about this. People would call in complaining that someone was “loitering” or “looking suspicious” and it was inevitably an old white person calling in about a youth POC, but they were required to check it out.
