Oh that's right, another movie somewhat unfairly maligned because it beat out some classics at the Oscars.

See, I never read it as him being gay, or even being a twist. I just read it as a manifestation of a rather violent epiphany about how much of an asshole he was. So he was torn completely down, he had completely lost his son, and then he was like… well… maybe I'm gay? But that didn't work out either.
The Thin Red Line came out in 1998 and was nominated for Best Picture (lost to Saving Private Ryan, of course), best director (lost to Stephen Spielberg, of course), and best adapted screenplay (lost to Gods and Monsters), among several others.
Oh God, Cleopatra was just hilariously bad, but let's be honest, Industrial music was never particularly adroit at graphic design in general. Certainly the worst CD packaging I've ever owned was Mentallo & The Fixer's Burnt Beyond Recognition: https://www.discogs.com/Men… Look at that shit.
Maybe, though Thrill Kill Kult was certainly unafraid of playing up their more psychedelic influences, and this was certainly well past Psychic TVs Jack the Tab period, so Industrial playing with psychedelia was certainly not unheard of. But what really bothers me about the cover is the fucking fonts, especially…
I was heavy into Thrill Kill Kult for awhile. It's cheesy as hell, but in a fairly intentional way. Confessions of a Knife is great, but I think 13 Above the Night was probably my favorite despite having the absolute worst cover ever. It was a lot of fun spotting the samples they used from B-Movies years later.
Nine Inch Nails is generally considered industrial rock. Industrial music started with much less conventional structures and intentionally provocative themes through Throbbing Gristle, Boyd Rice, SPK etc. Nine Inch Nails was kind of second wave and more accessible. Then again, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult and…
Vektroid also released three newish releases mid-July. RE·SET is probably the only relatively essential one, but Vektroid Texture Maps has the official release of Enemy, which is probably one of my favorite tracks by her: https://vektroid.bandcamp.com/
Are you the one that likes vaporwave? Have you heard the new Siddiq Vektroid collaboration that came out on Monday? Vektroid's production is so over the top, Siddiq's middling to terrible rapping is kind of laughable in contrast, but, amazingly still works.
The stunned silence after he hears Scott Walker's birthday wish is one of the greatest things that Bowie ever recorded.
I'm my sure if I was ever in a situation where I paid for the entirety of a date's food. Now I'm married and I can pretend to entirely pay for the food.
Okay wiseass, Who is John Galt?
Maybe he was dictating.
I think he always liked that sketch, though. https://www.youtube.com/wat…
No, but scratched into the floor near his body was the mysterious phrase 'I grant Wei—— Arrrrrrrrghhhhh'
We ARE ALL ankovic
In the vault are well worn copies of all of Weird Al's records, along with reels and reels of tapes marked 'Failure!' that feature Prince trying and failing to cover Eat It again and again.
Which is really more of a joke in a 'establishing a specific date through ridiculously on the nose diegetic details' way.
Possibly worse than random movies on Netflix is YouTube and it's horrible auto-playlist. My daughter likes to watch a middling animation of The Farmer in the Dell, but as soon as it's over she wants to watch whatever bullshit YouTube picks out next. Eventually we ended up with this 66 minute shit stain: https://www.you…
In those weird moments when you're driving along the freeway and have nothing but your mind to occupy you, I wondered what I would do if my wife died. Initially I was like, I'd drop my 2 year old off at my parents for a week and just drink myself to oblivion. Then I realized, oh shit, I can't do that, I would have to…
