I was completely compelled by their initial coming together. Deschanel and Johnson had this awesome chemistry that set them apart from the other cast members even before the characters got together. But then they got together and all the writers wanted to do was have then butt heads/make up every episode. Head they

+1 for Principal Foster's appearance.

So immediate…

Ryan? I'd forgotten about him, along with just about anything else that happened in S4. But Jess getting a new job, Dr. Sam hanging around…. I know Season 2 was the best season, but the writers don't need to try to recycle it.

"Chopstick Guns?"
"Tried it."

Don't care if it's good. If Peter Krause is gainfully employed, it harms the slim chances of a Sports Night reunion. I need Casey McCall to be available, thus this show must fail.

Not terrible, but just unnecessary. Didn't add anything.

It's the only one mentioned this conversation, and the only one I've been discussing. And that's part of why I'm not shocked these particular comments haven't been eager to cry about racism.

I took a look at the AV Club review of The Right Thing, and there wasn't a single comment.

Schmidt's mom did note to Cece when they met that, while she was great, she wasn't Jewish so it would be a case of 'over my dead body' if she were to date her son. She also thought Cece was Mexican as well, and I don't recall anyone here expressing any disappointment over that racist behavior.

I'm in no position to argue here. I just watched a close friend begin (and ultimately reject) the process of an arranged marriage, and I know there are many more boxes that need to be checked besides "not white". That said, I suppose just about anything can be boiled down to racist if we look at it the right way.

And Seth Cohen played Jess' ex in S3. Canonically, Jess has kissed both young and old Sandy, as well as his son.

It wasn't broached very well, but arranged marriage isn't easy. Leave out the fact that Cece kept her mom in the dark about who she was marrying, and there is still the whole 'rejecting her parents' culture' thing. I don't know that 'racist' is the right word. There is more to it than that. At least my hope is that

I've always preferred Jess when she's in on the joke. The heights of S2 didn't dim her dork all that much, but she had a certain edge to her that evened out. It's not too surprising given that Deschanel was quite deft at being wry and sardonic earlier in her career. As these episodes go, Jess seems to start off

First!!! (That's still a thing, right?)

How long ago we talking? I'm pretty sure there was a 3 year period where PCU and Half Baked were pretty much looped on weekend afternoons.

House. The format is a strict procedural 90%of the time (complete with the weekly 52 minute mark epiphany/solution to whatever 'disease of the week' puzzles our heroes). But Hugh Laurie is just very good. Plus (sue me) Jennifer Morrison to Olivia Wilde to Odette Anable is just a lovely succession of supporting

I think the issue is going to be more about her feeling the need to coddle his ego vs her making more money. Either that or her taking the 'on the job' postion of his superior home with her. Making decisions that should be between the two of them on her own.

Ugh, Becky, you sloppy boob-lizard.

Mid-season means daylight savings. The ratings of almost every 8pm show took a hit this week. They'd have to move it back to 9 to stay steady.
