They've tried her with the others before. But the Winston episodes (Bathtub/Bells, etc.) have fallen flat, and the Schmidt episodes (Neighbors/Control/LNE, etc.) have largely been outdone by the B-stories. And while I really like Jess and Cece, their A-stories have been hit miss, too. (Models, Bachelorette Party,

I don't think they'll go back quickly. At least not to Nick and Jess. The breakup/instant recovery has been a pretty sizable miss, one that does kind of risk spilling into next season. I think a lot depends on the audience's willingness to just forget much of what they've seen this season. Which doesn't seem very

My girlfriend is a psychologist, and she says Deschanel is clearly a little 'spectrumy'. I think I've read she does have ADHD or something. But yeah, she just seems uncomfortable on the likes of Leno and Letterman. (There is actually an old Letterman interview from 10-15 years ago, and she's blond and she's really

Not to pout, but I just feel they've both moved past it too easily. But there were moments where I was pretty relieved to see there was at least some struggle on her end.

She's got a lot going on anymore. Actress, musician, producer, designer, website whateverer… Come a long way since being that snarky makeup counter chick in The Good Girl.

I like Wayans, but I do worry it runs the risk of overcrowding. Other shows are completely fine with larger casts, but this really had a great pace and feel to it when it was the core four plus Cece.

My assumption is you have different people complaining. Although, you can't ever really overestimate how much people like to complain, I suppose.

I still enjoy the show far more than almost any other, and it's certainly earned the benefit of the doubt from me. That said, the fairly 'guess we'll do this now' breakup and seemingly speedy recovery has cast a bit of a pall over the last few episodes. I get that it's just TV, but it seems to all but undo the

Better watch yourself, VanDerWerff. Jack Bauer may just add you to his 'Bitches that Need Killin'' list.

It's one of those words like 'peruse'. At this point, the technically incorrect usage has got to be more common. But, whatever, right? Personally, I could care less…

Next week will be the first time New Girl aired the second of back to back new episodes in 8 weeks. Doesn't excuse the dive (tying the Mindy Project is a pretty low mark), but it certainly has hurt the cause.

Basically, I liked this episode well enough but I don't want to see it become a regular thing.
I can't see this becoming a regular thing. I think this was just supposed to be a (rather ill-scheduled) departure. Despite murmurs that they want to return to a season 1 dynamic, it's (thankfully) an impossibility. I

Again (and I don't really think we're disagreeing here) I don't see why one thing has to necessitate the other. Now we're left with a rather shaky breakup and, so far, the reasoning behind it hasn't really been explored satisfactorily. Do these two self conscious idiots we've known for 3 years really have zero doubt

I enjoyed the episode enough, but didn't really see it as some great revival of the ensemble. Jess and Cece had some nice moments, but outside of the Schmidt/Nick stuff in the beginning, everyone just kind of scatters into their own little gag. (I forgot all about Coach until he scolds them in the parking lot).

Definitely his best episode. But where was Principal Foster?

That little girl from Ben and Kate was awesome. Always loved how unaffected she was by the chaos around her.

If Coach does stick around, I look forward to the kids changing him further and further.

There is something pretty perfect about the woman who thinks 'you need to buy regular pants' and 'your hair is so long' are sufficient burns taking the good cop/bad cop trope completely literally. And I'm pretty sure Zooey Deschanel had a bit of a cold, and I think that was kind of hot.

I've always thought they could do it exactly once. Just seems like they've put too much into the relationship to just let it fade in such an unsatisfactory fashion. Because at this point, either the characters grow back towards each other or they grow further apart. And while some would preach that keeping them

Problem is, they had that golden opportunity to break Winston out this season. If they were going to lean on NickandJess too much (which I think they did, though not nearly so badly as some seem to think) this was the time to take advantage of there being no disposable Nick g/fs or Jess b/fs to incorporate. But
