I personally love going rogue. There are quite a few mobs, but the dark zone area is small right now, so they are dying fast. In the final game it will be much larger, so should be more spawns for you to kill.

It’s an rpg. Headshots hurt a ton, especially with a marksman rifle. But 1 shot kills to everything ruins any rpg and progression model.

No, but you carry an easy to spot yellow bag bellow your backpack indicating you are carrying dark zone loot.

I’ve done fairly well going lone wolf. But you need map knowledge, and be prepared to run or die at times. I went from rank 7 to 12 solo.
