@logstonc: What I do is just say "Happy Birthday" when I see the person. Skip the cards all together and you wont ever have the chance of forgetting to buy them. And it only costs around $0, almost nothing to start up.

@jeffk: I don't think that the oil is for the noodles, it is for the water. If the noodles are left unattended while boiling the water will boil over the top of the pan and make a mess. If oil is added to the water, then the water never boils over... try it and see, I think it would make a great experiment to have…
