I’m an “old” and a comics nerd from way back so I do have a bit of a sentimental attachment to the dynamic between Danny and Luke. And that was a big thing, according to the writers who worked on the comics; the idea of a black man and a white man coming from drastically different backgrounds becoming best friends.

In the comics it was 2001, and they specifically designed Fury after SLJ because 1) Jackson is a huge comics nerd and is much loved for being a cool guy that is open about being a dork. and 2) I think they were considering a film franchise from the very beginnings.

It’s a fine program and cast, I miss Sabine because she’s just funny as hell but the guys make a good program. It is nothing like the old series and does best when it does not try too hard to be like the old series.

This does not happen as often to vehicles with gun-racks owned by twitchy guys who constantly scan rooflines for snipers.

Sadly a lot of people who are afraid of losing their job, who have been trained to believe everyone is an evil litigious liar (look at how often people still bring up the Canadian McDonald’s coffee incident without knowing how massively McDonald’s really screwed up).
