The anime started catching up to the manga very early and they’ve been innovating filler technology. While the average anime will use 2-3 chapters per episode, One Piece has somehow managed to shrink that down to 1 chapter per episode.

I hated the art at the beginning, now I love it. That being said, I didn’t started to read it due to peer pressure and it feels that forcing yourself to do so would be counter-productive. As other have said, it’s fine not to like something that’s beloved and it seems to be the way you’re gonna go with this.

I’ve been reading rather than watching and it’s never really dragged for me; I hear the anime is pretty overstretched in comparison. Maybe if you switch back to the manga it’ll work better for you.
