Clutch went out at a gas station outside of Detroit in my ‘01 Jeep Wrangler. Limped it back home and into the garage. Had to use the heat wrench and sawzall a lot because of all the rust underneath to the the transmission and clutch out ... easy job once I got in there. Went back together real well until...

I’m an engineer as well so I feel your pain. There are simply too many variables to accurately predict what someone’s average mileage will be. Only way to have an accurate mileage would be to say EXACTLY what “highway mileage” means. 0% grade, 65mph, 160lb driver, no ac, 1/4 tank of gas, 91 octane, 38psi tires, sea

Take it to a weigh-station?

Had a ‘78 F-100 Ranger growing up so there is precedent!

2.7L 4wd Crew Cab here. I drive primarily city and my dash says 21.3mpg right now and I haven’t reset it in about 5000 miles. Even if it’s off a bit, I’m still close to or over 20 mpg.

To be fair, when you think about what your arms/legs/body can do ... the “more” it can do and the better it can do it, the more likely that body is going to conform to most societal ideals of beauty. Athletic folks are generally in better shape, in better shape is generally considered more beautiful/attractive. This

They all had shitty headlights in my opinion (had a TJ and JKU) ... please elaborate:)

I wanted one. Didn’t buy one because you had to get it with an air-cooled Sportster engine ... they should have let Buell just buy a twin from Suzuki/Honda/Ducati that would have been appropriate for a sportbike.

IMHO it is simple. Harley has a problem because there aren’t many “new” HD guys to replace the old ones. Plenty of “new” Porsche guys are minted every year in middle management & med school ...

I don’t think that saying people don’t want an EV/Hybrid is the right statement. At least not for me. I want one, I just don’t want one enough to pay more for it. I recently lived this out. Price for a Fusion Energi (plug-in hybrid) was basically identical to that of a gas Fusion ... got the Energi and love it

I’ve forgotten that my kids were in the backseat and started driving them to work with me. When I didn’t make the turn to the daycare my daughter asked if it was take your kid to work day again.

Crash regulations? Airbags? Looks like it would have to be sold as a kit car ...

LOL :) Love that car though! Slow for sure ... but still a ton of fun to take the wife out in the car we used to go on dates in.

“Least desireable...” My ‘95 V6 would like to have a word with you!

Guilty. Mid-30s and my aunt had a burgundy New Yorker in the 80's. I remember asking my dad “Why would a door be a jar?”

Everyone’s pay is based on 1 factor ... how expensive you are to replace. (Well at least for us mortals. Who knows what CEO pay is based on.) $10 an hour job? That means someone else will come in to do your work for $10, not that you produce $10 + profit in value. (But of course you do, otherwise no job for you!)

I feel for the long-haul truckers, but I really don’t see how they compete with a robot that never sleeps. Not sure what the regulations are for human drivers now, but I’m going to assume they can drive 8hrs a day for easy math. If I was a trucking company owner and I could buy a truck that runs 3x longer without

‘81 here. My school had computers since I was in 1st grade (maybe kindergarten ... don’t remember, probably had them but wouldn’t let us in there!). Mostly did typing, math & spelling puzzles and Oregon Trail at that time.

They were cool when they were young and too broke to afford them. They were crap (AMX years) when they could afford them and were still young. They were getting a bit better, but then they had kids and their wives wouldn’t let them buy’em. Finally the kids went to college, mid-life crisis started and either their

Depends on 2 things. 1 is how you define almost. 2 is your start date for millennial. Lots of folks put it at 1980 ... last I check that was 37 years ago. 3 years from 40 sounds a lot like “almost”
