Exactly. People shouldn't be surprised that comics like Louis or Richter are this smart. They might be surprised (and highly disturbed) that our media elites are this dumb. Extremely well-paid idiots, for the most part.

Another thing Pet Sounds & Blonde On Blonde have in common: they both sound MUCH better in the original mono mixes.

Beatles. Revolver.

Adults in the '40s & '50s lived through the Great Depression and World War II. They were forced to deal with truly existential stuff. That will make a person grow up fast.

That's my favorite line in the whole movie. Coleman's delivery is just magnificent.

Young Jeff Garlin made his film debut in the 1983 teen sex comedy "Spring Break."

God, that Kaplan/Conrad race was glorious. Gabe seemed like such a schlub, while Conrad was the macho tough guy. Ten-year-old me thought Mr. Kotter would get smoked. It tickled me to no end to see him blow away that cocky little bastard.

Nicholas Schaffner's "The Beatles Forever" would be the first book I'd recommend to anyone just getting into the Fabs. Great perspective from a young fan who grew up to be one of the most insightful rock writers of his era. Like Lennon, Schaffner died way too young.
